Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)

PDR: The Facts

PDR is a process of removing minor dents without painting or using a body filler. In most cases dents can be repaired on site without the need for a body shop. PDR consists of tooling methods performed on the back side of the metal to reshape the metal and restore it to it's original form while keeping the factory finish in tact.

Using the latest in state-of-the-art technology specially designed tools, expert technicians are able to massage the damaged area to restore it to its original shape. Certified technicians can transform the damaged area back to its original condition without the need for costly body fillers, sanding and painting typically used by traditional body repair shops. Having the proper skills and tools to access the dent and remove it are what sets the standard in PDR. Proper PDR is not performed with a glue puller and video instruction. It requires extensive training and experience.

How much does it cost?

The cost of PDR is based on the size of the dent or dents and the accessibility to the dent that needs repair. When compared to the estimate you would receive in a body shop PDR is about one third to one half of the body shop cost. The reason for this is that there are no "materials" involved and no parts to replace. While a body shop might take several days, almost all PDR work is completed within a few hours or a day.

Is PDR cost effective?

Yes, most repairs fall below an insurance deductible and are typically one third to one half the cost of conventional body shop repairs. Most insurance companies recognize the PDR process and will recommend or even require it over conventional body shop methods.

Will PDR affect my car value?

No, by using PDR you are helping to preserve the factory finish of your car. By doing so, the value does not depreciate because of a PDR repair.

Will I need to leave my car overnight?

Depending on the severity of the dent extra time may be required. Most repairs only take a few hours. In the case of a hail damaged vehicle, you may be asked to leave your car over night.

Lease Returns

Many people choose to lease their cars instead of buying them. When a car is turned back in at the end of the lease, it is inspected for damage to the vehicle. Often times over the life of a lease, door dings and minor dents are common. Dent Solutions can help prevent excess charges for these door dings and minor dents and we can make these repairs at a fraction of the cost a leasing company would charge.
