PDR is a process of removing door dings and minor dents without painting or filling a dent with body filler. It consists of tooling methods performed on the back side of the metal to reshape the metal to its original form, keeping the factory finish intact.
Technicians use specially designed tools to access damaged areas. Having the proper skills and tools to access the dent and removing it is what sets the standard in PDR. Proper PDR is not performed with a glue puller and video instruction. It requires adequate, intensive training and experience.
Cost of PDR is based on the size of a dent and the accessibility to a dent. Compared to a conventional body shop repair, PDR is usually one third to one half the cost. The reason for this is that there is no “materials” involved and the process is less labor intensive and can be completed within a few hours or a day.
